Hi, I'm Emily (they/them)! I'm a professional stage manager, surtitle designer, and miscellaneous theatre-maker, working on the unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe (Ottawa). I work in English, French, and Spanish (level C1), and specialize in bridging linguistic gaps between audiences and artists, as well as making theatre more accessible, through the use of surtitles (projected captions for live performances, equivalent to closed captions or subtitles in TV and film). As a stage manager, I have experience working on shows for young audiences (babies, kids, teens), clown shows, shows with puppets, object theatre, shows with live music, and touring shows, including outdoor and school tours. As a queer, trans, and disabled artist, I am passionate about bringing marginalized stories to the stage and creating safer, more inclusive, and more accessible creative spaces.
